Largest crowd
Lorne has sounded the death-knell of Rufus Bousquet/Bruce Tucker by attracting the largest local crowd in the history of Choiseul Politics. Independent observers estimated the turnout at La Fargue, Choiseul to be in the vicinity of 3000 persons or about twice the size of the crowd which attended the national “Flambeau” meeting held in the village on the same night. Have you ever seen a local crowd being twice bigger than a national crowd?

LA FARGUE EN ROUGE: SECTION OF THE CROWD
Whether the massive turnout was due to Vendwédi en rouge, solid support for Lorne or a threat against Lorne’s powerful campaign manager, it is difficult to tell. Suffice it to say that it may well be a combination of all three and more!
At a public meeting in Mongouge, Bousquet threatened Lorne’s campaign boss with legal action for citing claims by Rick Wayne that “A minister of Government infected a young girl with HIV/AIDS”. Reports reaching the powerhouse indicate that the victim is now in a critical condition and we are trying to establish contact with her or her family for verification purposes.

ANOTHER SECTION OF THE CROWD
En Rouge!
The “en rouge” chant has picked up unstoppable momentum in Choiseul/Saltibus. What’s even more amazing is its widespread acceptance and appeal across households, appealing equally to little infants and the elderly. It is being echoed across the vast landscape of Choiseul/Saltibus like an 18th century "liberation chant" of our forefathers in their march to freedom. And if there’s anything that will contribute to an overwhelming SLP victory, it is the “en rouge” chant for freedom. It’s is the equivalent of Obama’s presidential “fired up and ready to go” slogan.
The “en rouge” chant finally caught up in Mongouge after Tucker’s notorious Thursday Night meeting there which many observers dubbed as an “insult galore” against the citizens of Mongouge. Obviously, those insults and negative criticisms raised the “Mongouge Beehive” again.
In the eighties and nineties, Labour supporters referred to the Mongouge Box as the “bwèt vonvon” because it was the main decider in any poll; except in rare cases, it was the very difficult for a candidate to win an election in Choiseul without winning Mongouge. However, as Mongouge voters dispersed in the “diaspora” overtime, the bwèt vonvon lost some of its sting, as was the case for the years 1982, 1992 and 2006.

CROWD WITHOUT AN END
Night on La Fargue Street
It must have been a nightmare for the disheveled Stephenson King and his band of Ali Babas to drive through the thickness of the La Fargue crowd on Friday; it must have been their worst experience in the campaign as the massive Labour crowd lining both sides of the La Fargue Road for more than 200 yards spontaneously and ecstatically chanted their “Ti kwa” and “en rouge” chorus. Not even the heavy police presence could save the Heavy Roller and his entourage from the torrents of non-violent protest which rained on them. Not even their big sound systems could drown the voice of a suffering electorate as they marched in search of better opportunities for themselves and their children with Lorne as their champion!
It was all Euphoria and celebration at La Fargue until the curtains came down at midnight. Earlier, presentations by Yardie, the Gertrine Girls and Pokocion (a calypsonian) whipped the crowd into frenzy and everyone wanted more. Nobody wanted to go home.

TUCKER TO RETURN BEHIND BARS?
What’s next for Tucker
Lorne is radiating confidence and so are his supporters. He promised the massive crowd that he will tiwé tjilòt Rufus on Election day for all the atrocities he has committed against us. He raised questions about Tucker's failure to deliver the stadium at la Fargue, Tucker's ill-treatment of the fishermen, Tucker's misuse of the Hurricane Tomas relief supplies and funds. Lorne went on to outline a litany of outstanding issues in Bousquet’s "laps" that need immediate accounting and he has vowed to send Bousquet back in prison for all those crimes against humanity committed against the poor people of Choiseul/Saltibus.
