THE POWERHOUSE IS GOING PLACES!

The Choiseul PowerHouse is “powering ahead” in Cyberspace with the speed of light. Some claim we are hard-hitting and controversial; some claim we are intellectual and academic! Some even claim we are political! Everybody is right! We are all of those things! We have a diverse global audience and it is our pleasure to stimulate your intellectual taste buds and we make no apologies for that. The bottomline is we are independent and have no affinity to any organisation: political or otherwise! We will continue to publish our "power articles"

We wish to extend special thanks to followers for their support. We also encourage you to post your comments and feedback on the Blog using the comments link following the Articles.

Welcome to the POWERHOUSE family blog!

What the Rains did to Choiseul/Saltibus?

Choiseul/Saltibus received a total of of 407.9mm of rain for the month of April this year. This is by far the highest rainfall we have had for a long time. Is this a major warning sign of "things to come"? While we welcome the rain for obvious reasons, we are very concerned about the adverse impact. St. Lucia is a country badly fractured by Tomas and in many places, there are disasters waiting to happen. I refer to Fond St. Jacques, Columbette, Saltibus, Daban, Gertrine, Bexon and Barre d'Isle.

Here  are some photos of what we have seen so far! We will bring you more photos later on!

  1. The Powerhouse, could you please enlighten us in the diaspora on the rumour which is circulating that members of the Powerhouse, including the slp endorsed member, going to Saltibus on Sunday to provoke members of the UWP and displaying behaviours which uwp supporters say were unbecoming of the powerhouse crew. The have gone to the extent to say that Lorne's crew is engaged in "mal palay " and "may pwee". Please shed some light on this because i think the UWP losers are on a trail of lies and deciet and will do anything to tarnish members of the Powerhouse.

  2. Watch out! there is an entire feature on the 100-man match which turned out to be a "50-man lavish indoor fete". The feature will be published out very soon! In that feature, we will publish evidence of their desperation and the length they will go to. They are simply scared to death. That's what it is.

  3. Powerhouse, you are doing a splendid job! Keep it up. You are keeping us well-informed with some brilliant analysis! I received your email about the "Duvalier" of Choiseul. It's true. Rufus is acting just like the Duvalier's of Haiti. I understand they have passed some the Voodoo Master on HOT FM! Listen to him tomorrow morning

  4. Hi Editor,

(I think you will find it is called TROU MARC but of course I recognised it)

When you visited there did you go along to the beach? Myself and some friends regularly use this beach and everytime we have to pick up all the garbage dumped there. It appears that people are paid to remove garbage from hotels and businesses in the Soufriere and are paid to take it to the dump at Vieux fort , but of course here is a lot nearer and they do it with impunity. They have been tackled about this by a male resident and the police have been called while they are doing it but of course the police are always otherwise engaged.

While the rain damage is not good , it is at least natural and will mend itself in time but the long term effects of the garbage is horrendous to contemplate.

By the way did you go up to the non bridge at Union Vale ? i expect if it HAD been mended it would not have stood up to the rain, this was not destroyed during Tomas but at the end of August. Anyone from this part of Choiseul now has to go through Mon Gouge and Victoria to get to Soufriere, the preferred route through Delcer, union Vale etc is much shorter and quicker.

  5. Man from SaltibusMay 3, 2011 at 11:29 PM

Doc, the way of life of Tucker is lies and deceit; so I thought I should let members of the diaspora know that. I am from Saltibus. Tucker realises that he is losing ground in Saltibus and he is already so worried that he is even crying. When Saltibus was told about the Magee he was going to do Sunday, they organise themselves because they are mad at Tucker's dirty tricks. Why he bringing a hundred man from outside to brainwash us? He really think we stupid. Those who want to be stupid, it is up to them. I know I am not stupid. We don't want Tucker or his works in saltibus
