You will hardly miss the news if you live in Choiseul, especially the Village.
Allegations are rife that a certain politician had a freak altercation with a constituent. Sources close the PowerHouse reported that the politician was en route to the Choiseul River apparently to collect water for distribution to his constituency when a young man allegedly cracked a joke with him. He took offense and physically attacked the young man who allegedly struck back. The result was a brief altercation between them.
It's amazing how some of our leaders who hold high office are "loosing it". Lately, one of the candidates for Choiseul/Saltibus constituency seem to have become excessively and inexplicably aggressive. Constituents are puzzled by this "seemingly charismatic" politician's behaviour whose campaign has gone to the point of attacks even on honorable and respected citizens of the constituency.
Choiseulians are going through a process of "political enlightenment" and "disillusionment". They are beginning to see the wolf in sheep's clothing; and this seems to be having a telling impact on the faculties of fraudulent politicians even to the point of causing violence.

Yes, indeed! I heard the story, too.It is spreading like wildfire but the victim has a different version. You better talk to him. I understand it may even end up in the courts.

ReplyDeleteI am very much perturbed by Rufus' behaviour, his is getting more desperate by the second however does choiseulians really expect anything better from Rufus and man who runs all over the place(after the young "stuip, shameless" girls),on helicopter fleeing for is constituants, now attacking people!What is there left for Rufus to do? Watch the arrogance Rufus you need to.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it normal for we human beings to sow emotion? Some of us behave ignorant to the fact that whenever someone in society has a certain post as a teacher, doctor, politician etc. must always comply with "Values and Norms" that we ourselves have created. Come on...express yourself!...if someone were to strike at me...I would!.....We're only human beings...everyone has their breaking point. Furthermore, I'm not on any side. I hope this doesn't turn out top be a political blog.
ReplyDeleteThis page seems to be a great idea although the true motives behind it wll eventually be revealed if the story above is any indication of the unnoticed news referred to. Neither candidate appeals to me and a small emotionally harged altercation will not sway me in either direction. Neither candidate lives in the constituency. Rather they use the connections they have there to further their personal political ambititions. Choiseulians deserve better. Unfortunately, the nasty political climate deters any true, honest individual from entering the arena and providing the kind of representation that choiseul and st. Lucia deserve.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that neither candidate lives in the constituency does not affect their ability to properly represent it. the altercation between Rufus and the man goes to show the character we are dealing with and the information is that he the district rep hit the man first.I agree that Choiseul deserves better, that is why Lorne is the man, we voting. Better days are coming, a better rep is coming.
