Don’t mind his bravado and machismo in public; Tucker is having a real tough time trying battle it out. He will occasionally pop in at a community event for an hour or less and then disappear. However, in an attempt to beef him up and to give the impression that all is well with him, his constituency group has embarked on a series of activities designed by the mind-bending SCL network to hoodwink unsuspecting constituents.
Two Sundays ago, the constituency group held a pseudo fitness march from Delcer through Ravineau, Mongouge, Morne Sion, La Pointe and back to Delcer! Tucker was conspicuously absent and that justifiably caused some eyebrow-raising; but did he have a choice? We have been advised that he didn’t! He can’t walk for too long and he can’t stand for too long; he can’t even drive for too long.
When Tucker returned from Canada last Wednesday, he immediately summoned a brief meeting with his strategy team at D’Andre’s. On the Friday, perhaps knowing that Lorne would patronise the Détou Kannawi Jounèn Kwéyol extravaganza, he forced himself to be there, playing macho. But a day or two later, he had to be flown out back to Canada for emergency attention. Of late, we haven’t seen him. We have been informed he may have returned home and is resting comfortably at his D’Andre’s domicile in Balembouche.
We have also been informed that D’Andre’s is new political Headquarters.
Why should Tucker expose himself to so much stress? A source close to him gave the reasons: he wants to pass on while in Office so that he can be afforded all the regalia of a state funeral! So despite his frailty and all else that the doctor has told him, he will run the seat, if God permits it. Thank God he has millions from Mr Chou; he can hire SCL mercenaries to do the job while he battles it out on a bed.
How long will he carry on with his “indwelling catheter” is anybody’s guess. We understand the main issue with him right now is the catheterization; and because of the complex nature of his illness, those catheterization issues cannot be handled locally. He spent several hours at our internationally acclaimed hospital to try to resolve the issue but there was no success.
He may well have to be retrofitted with a “permcath” - that is a permanent catheter.
All St. Lucians have to be concerned about the health of the candidates that seek to represent them; it is our business. We have many challenges ahead and we cannot afford to take risks with unhealthy candidates at this time. If Tucker did not do a good job when he was healthy, will he do it when he has issues with his health? We need candidates unencumbered by health issues to run our affairs.
We must admit that of our own knowledge, we do not know that the rep’s health is failing. He has not been honest and forthright with us. The PM made half-disclosures; but over time, we have learned not to trust him; so we can’t take his word for granted. Lè King di ou pou asiz, kouwi.
We deeply empathise with Tucker and our best advice to him is to stop doing cruelty to himself. He should really take some time off the job and show greater concern for his health.
TUCKER, SHOW SOME LOVE FOR YOURSELF; IT IS BY LOVING YOURSELF THAT WE WILL KNOW THAT YOU LOVE US! DON'T COMPROMISE YOUR HEALTH FURTHER IN A HIGHLY STRESSFUL POLITICAL CAMPAIGN!
